Hey!
Not the most eventful week for me, I've been distracted by the luxuries and time one has when they're off from school and unemployed simultaneously. This is the first time that's happened since I graduated high school!
The most notable thing I've done is finish the Jen Lucas Mystery Shawl I have been working on!
In this picture, I hadn't blocked it yet, just pinned it out so I could see what it looked like. I did block it afterwards and really got the lace to open up. I had planned on making it larger than this, but my last skein of yarn was completely demolished by my boyfriend's cats.
This is really a problem for me. The cats are incredibly stealthy and ever since they got that first ball of yarn out from under me (a $30 skein of sock yarn. I wanted to cry) they seem to have made it their life's goal to get more and more. They have gotten yarn from my stash SEVEN times thus far. Most of the time, it has only been tangled, but it takes several hours to untangle the yarn so it can be used again.
One of the skeins simply didn't survive.
I see knitters/crocheters with cats ALL THE TIME. Is there anything I can do to keep my yarn safe? It's incredibly inconvenient to pack it all up every time I need to get up for just a second, and that doesn't always work. Sometimes they snatch it when I've just looked away for a minute. I've started locking them out of the room, to be safe. However, when the boyfriend gets home, he lets them back in because they're "his babies" and "they can't help it".
Please help!

Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAw, that sounds like quite a problem. I don't know what to do about it, though. :S
