The Interview

First things first: you're not going crazy. I have, in fact, been changing the site layout and color scheme obsessively. I was looking for the best one, and I think this might be it. But I cannot make any promises.

This week was hectic for me because I had a big interview to prepare for. It was like a job interview, but not quite. Let me explain.

The MECOP program is a program that places interns with companies who want them. A little over a year ago I interviewed to get into the program, and every January since I've had to do another interview. A placement interview.

This is when 25-ish company representatives all stare at me in a small (but fancy) conference room and take turns interrogating me about my achievements and my interests. Next, they draw numbers from a  hat and take turns picking the interns that they want for their company.

Don't get me wrong, this is the best opportunity I could ask for and I'm so grateful that the gratefulness is spilling out of my ears. However, this interview is always very hard on me due to the inevitable stage fright that comes with so many people watching me at once.

On the bright side, after the 8:00 am meet-and-greet, I had roughly three hours to knit before my actual interview. I got an entire square for the afghan done (no pictures as I haven't blocked it yet). Also, they even asked me about my knitting in the interview, which made me smile.

I've also made significant progress on my Vivian sweater, which I plan on sharing soon!
